Arthur Lee Posey, Sr. .AKA "Lil Poppa" was born on December14, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Beluah Posey and Charlie Posey, Sr. He attended Dodson Elementary School and Ryan Junior High. He later had to leave school to help his parents take care of his siblings. Arthur was united in Holy Matrimony to Wilma Joyce Jeffery and fathered two children. He later married Lillie Jane Washington fathered three children. He was baptized by the late E.L. Bible at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where his parents were faithful church members for many years. Arthur's hobbies included: playing baseball, dominoes, shooting pool and was The #1 Fan for the Pittsburg Steelers. He worked for the City of West University, Rainbow Bakery and Houston Shippers throughout his adult years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beluah and Charlie Posey, Sr.; two sisters, June Ell Posey and Laura Etta Posey; three brothers, Charlie Posey, Jr., Melvin D. Posey and Lewis Howard Posey; two great grandchildren, Hemel Johnson, Jr. and Rashad Kizzee. Arthur leaves to cherish his memories; five children, Arthur Lee Posey, Jr., Cheryl A. Posey, Jerry D. Posey, Jacqueline D. Posey, Demetria Reed (Patrick); eight grandchildren, John Henry Nelams IV, Jasmine Denise Posey, Jontrae' Demond Nelams, Sr., Deronzick Glenn Mass, Sr., Dedrick Dwayne Posey, Deatria Monique' Reed, Roquita Jay Posey and Jarius Vance; eleven great grandchildren, Yasmine Johnson, Jermel Johnson, Rhihanna Johnson, Tiadell Johnson, Jontrae Nelams, Jr., Dahja Mass, Deronzick Mass, Jr., Demaukis mass, Kameron Posey, Messiah Posey and Me'Khya Posey; three brothers, Willie Earnest Posey, Gerome Posey and Oliver Posey; four sisters, Lavada Posey, Beulah Washington, Merdine Posey and Barbara Christine Posey, all of Houston, TX; one close friend, Billy Ray Crockett and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
