Obituary

David Alan Edwards, 70, passed unexpectedly at 9:13 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023. David was born on August 28, 1953, in Los Angeles, California and was the first-born child of Winefred Ann Edwards (Hopson) and William Myron Edwards. David's family moved to La Porte in 1966 and he had many friends due to his love of life and wonderful sense of humor. David graduated from La Porte High School in May of 1971, attended the University of Houston followed by a successful engineering career in the oil and gas industry. David met his future wife, Charlotte Anne Bradshaw in high school, where they were both members of their high school band. He married Anne in La Porte, Texas in June of 1975. They went on to have a family that was completed by their five children, David Brian, Laura Renée, Christopher Michael, Elizabeth Anne, and George Thomas Edwards. David worked hard all of his life to provide for his family and was loved by his colleagues due to his hard work and dedication. David was sorely missed since his retirement in July of 2022. He adored nature, his family, his faith, art, music, photography and had a deep love of his country. David was an accomplished musician and played several instruments including guitar and drums. He was also talented at recording and mixing music, creating original music compositions and even took up oil painting upon retirement. David was preceded in death by his former wife, Charlotte Anne Bradshaw-Edwards, his son, David Brian Edwards, his parents, Winefred Ann Edwards (Hopson) and William Myron Edwards, as well as his brothers, John William Edwards and Thomas Joseph Edwards. David is survived by four of his children, Laura Renée (husband Brian Kenneth) Evans, Christopher Michael Edwards, Elizabeth Anne Edwards and George Thomas Edwards. He will be greatly missed by the grandchildren who adored him, Addison Anne Evans, Benjamin Kenneth Evans and Nathaniel Robert Evans; as well as his sister Karen (husband Kurt) Schexnayder, nephew, Jason Schexnayder and his niece, Jenna Cooley. Words cannot express our sorrow at David's unexpected passing. He is mourned by his many friends and extended family. Services will be held at 1:00 PM with the option of attending a viewing one hour prior to services, on Saturday, November 18th. Both the viewing and the funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4202 Yellowstone Drive, Pasadena, Texas 77504. Bishop Richard Padron will officiate.
