Mike peacefully passed on the evening of Friday June 12, 2020. Mike was born in Decatur, Illinois, and has been a resident of La Porte, Texas in the past five years. Mike had a playful attitude and would tell everyone that now "he is gone fishing". He enjoyed life to the fullest and bravely battled cancer for two years. Mike was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mike is survived by his wife Janice Sullivan to whom he was married for 17 years. He is also survived by his children Kristin Whitaker and Jeff Sullivan and grandchildren Ashley, Andrew and Alicia. He proudly served on the military – U.S. Marine Corps. He was an accomplished pilot who enjoyed outdoor activities and fishing. Mike wanted to be remembered with happiness. He is now at the other side of the rainbow with his cherished best friend "Maximus" and the loved ones that have departed before. Mike will be dearly missed but his love remains in our hearts forever.
