Obituary

James Henry Martin , more affectionately known as Chuck or Skeeter was born August 5, 1947 to Emilie and Leroy Martin in Anahuac, Texas. Chuck grew up in Anahuac and attended Anahuac High School. After High School he went on to University of Houston, and MIT, ultimately earning a Masters in Accounting and Human Resources. After serving with the Army in Vietnam, Chuck secured a job with Shell Oil Company and moved to La Porte, Texas. His career at Shell lasted over 30 years. During this time Chuck was a proud member of the Shriners. This love of service lead him to volunteer as a driver and a very enthusiastic Clown at the Children's Hospital. It was at Children's that he met his future wife, Dominga. They were married on November 6th, 2010 in Houston, Texas. They continued to grow as a couple, living in La Porte. Chuck was also an avid Gardner. He loved growing tomatoes that continue to provide us with reminders of his love. Chuck left us all too soon, on April 15, in Pasadena. He is survived by his wife, Dominga. His son, Jamie Martin as well as bonus kids by marriage, Natalie McGeehan, Daniel Rehnberg and Steven Ruiz. He will also be missed by his siblings, Renee Winters and William Martin Jr and Niece and Nephew, Kayla Hoffant and Daxton William Martin. His memory will live on with all of his extended family and friends including his fur babies, Prissy and Trixie.
