Makeyon Markel Dean was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on March 27, 2007, to DeMarcus Barnes and Samone Dean. Makeyon spent most of his life in La Porte, Texas with DeMarcus and Candice Barnes. He attended school at College Park Elementary, Baker Middle School, Lomax Jr. High, and graduated from La Porte High School. He was very passionate about sports and played baseball, football, and basketball. He also enjoyed spending time playing video games in his spare time. He was very active and also highly creative, with a passion for drawing and art. Makeyon was a loving son, grandson, brother, cousin, uncle, boyfriend and friend who brought comfort and joy to those around him. As a devoted provider, He worked hard and worked to support, protect, and care for his family while being a key factor in supporting his father while in recovery. He also shared much time with his girlfriend, Anaya Sonnier, with whom he built a five-year relationship. Thursday evening on April 9, 2026, Our Heavenly Father whispered to "Makeyon, come and rest my child, your work here is done."
