Obituary

Mary Lou Mejia was born March 15, 1981 in Victoria, Texas to Linda DeHoyos Mejia and Benny Mejia. She grew up in Victoria Mary was a lovely, kind girl. She has always been known for her sweet laugh and soft voice. Mary lovedto sing, dance, and could make just about anyone laugh. Mary was very family oriented. She loved withall she could. Mary would go above and beyond for people. She had a soft heart but was firm if she hadto be. But she preferred to be kind. In February 2000 she was blessed with a beautiful little girl. Even though her pregnancy wasn't likeyour typical one she did not let her health get her down. Unfortunately she had complications with herpregnancy and her daughter, Marni, was born at 24 weeks. But Mary still stood strong for herself andnow for her new premature baby. Five years later Mary was surprisingly blessed with a wonder littleboy. Sadly she experienced another complicated pregnancy and Joel was born at 26 weeks, but withstrong faith and strong will she was able to be a single parent of two precious babies. Throughout the years Mary has been a "wonderer" kind of girl. She has traveled from Victoria to CorpusChristi, The Valley, San Antonio and to finally Baytown. She moved here in November 2013 so thatshe could be closer to her mother, Linda, and because her health condition got worse. Even thoughMary was faced with obstacles because of her health she would push herself to get through it. Since thebeginning of her being sick she has always been a fighter. I don't feel she was defeated by her sicknessshe was just ready to go home to her Heavenly Father. And even though we do not have her here in thislifetime we look forward to being reunited with her in the everlasting life. Mary is survived by her children, Marni Aza Mejia-Valdez and Joel Isaac Nunez, her mother, Lindaand father Benny and her siblings; Monica Mejia (Pedro Martinez), Rocky Mejia, LaLoni Mejia (DavidOntiveros), Jillian Mejia, Greg Moravek, AJ Mejia, Valerie Mejia and Sabrina Mejia. She also leaves tocherish her memory her grandmother, Mary Prieto and grandfather, Lorenzo Mejia, Sr. as well as manyfriends and extended family.
