Mei N Hightower passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 6, 2014. She was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia October 8, 1937 to Posan San Loke and Lin L (Chinn) Loke Mei and Richard met in 1957 while Richard was serving with the Marines and stationed at the US Embassy in Malaysia. A year later they were married on November 22, 1958. After returning to the States, Richard and Mei eventually settled in Deer Park, Texas where they raised their 2 boys that they are so very proud of: Raymond Hightower and John (wife Kim) Hightower. After the boys were grown, they moved to Baytown Texas where they were enjoying time together. Mei loved being a wonderful wife and very proud mother and an amazing grandmother. Her nurturing soul spoke to her family and to all the wonderful plants she grew. She was very proud of her pond and her (huge) Koi Fish. Mei is preceded by her parents, her brothers; Kok Ly Loke and Kok Evee Lok and sister, Ngan Ye Loke. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard. Her children; Raymond Hightower and John (wife Kim) Hightower and grandchildren, Raymond Hightower Jr., Renee Hightower, Amber Dominicks , Derrek Dampier and Ryan Dampier, as well as many friends and extended family. Family and friends are encouraged to meet beginning at 6PM on Monday, February 10 at Stepping Stone Funeral Home, 215 S. Broadway St. La Porte, TX. A memorial celebration of Mei's life will begin at 7 PM.
