Obituary

Roberto Felix AKA "Ras Obashie" was born and raised in ST. CROIX USVI on January 31st, 1967. He was born to loving parents, Miguelina Vasquez and Demetrio Felix-Ortiz. He spent most of his early life in ST. CROIX. He grew up with his siblings, Ricardo Felix Sr (Ricky), Demetrio Felix Jr (Junie), Rochell Felix, Dutchell Felix, and Mariel Felix-Soto. He attended Central High school, home of the Caribs, where he graduated June of 1985. Roberto worked in The Oil and Gas industry for over 20 years. He started working at the Hess Refinery (Hovensa) in St. Croix USVI where he was a Journeyman. He then transitioned to Texas, where he worked at Sanderson Farm for a few years, but his passion was and always will be working in the Refinery. Roberto found a job he loved as a Pipefitter Lead man working with MasTec and S&B. He lived in Texas for over 30 years making memories with his family and friends. Roberto was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic Lung cancer in 2024. He fought a long battle and kept pushing through life. Going to chemotherapy and radiation appointments became his daily life. Roberto never let anything get him down, even on days when he wasn't feeling his BEST, he still kept a smile on his face. He embodied the essence of love, compassion, and resilience. His unwavering spirit and unwavering commitment to kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether it was through a warm smile, a listening ear, or a helping hand, Roberto left an indelible mark.February 2, 2025, Roberto was hospitalized and he spent 19 long days putting up a fight. The fight was long and hard but he ascended to heaven where he met his brother Demetrio "Junie" Felix. His last wish was to be taken home to ST. CROIX. A Celebration of life will be held at Iglesia Evangelica Misionera, La Grange, Frederiksted, ST. CROIX, VI. He leaves behind to share his memories with his Mother, Miguelina Vasques, his father Demetrio Felix Ortiz; brother Richardo Felix; sisters, Mariel Felix-Soto, Rochelle Felix, and Dutchelle Felix. Daughters, Darieanna Felix and Jacklyn; son, Roberto Felix JR. Brother-in law, Luis Soto SR, Billy Jones; Nieces, Amber Browne, Amanda Browne, Janllyn Barnes, Ruby Richardson, Keyara Greenidge, Arian Soto, Thaliah Felix, Amaya Jones, Amelia Jones, Kiana Jones and Selena Barnes-Moss; Nephews, Randolph Richardson, Josiah Jones, Joel Soto, Jamal Barnes, Luis Soto JR, Ricardo Felix Jr; great nieces, Alasia Moss, Asia Moss, Amariah Whitfield, Malaya Whitfield, Makayla Wilson. MyKenzie Wilson, Jasmine Green, Mia moss, Ava Richardson, Remi Adams; Great-Nephews, Jaimir Hood, Gerald Johnson, Isiah Lotts, Micheal Wilson, Jaxtyn Jones, Xylan Jones. Uncles, Francisco Availa, Jesus "Chu' Felix; Aunts Sonya Vasquez, Maria Felix, Lujina Felix; Cousins, Yvette, Carla, Victor, Jermaine and many other cousins too numerous to mention. Special Friends, Ronda Kennedy, Ricardo "Chino" Barnes and MANY other family and friends including the Mardenborough family, The Mason Family, Campo Rico Massive. As we mourn the loss of Roberto, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. May we honor Roberto's memory by living our lives with the same grace, courage, and love that he exemplified.
