Beloved husband of Rose Lee Liberman. Loving father of the late Jeffrey Liberman and the late Shellie Hersh (Edward). Grandfather of Sarah and Amy Liberman, Jonathan, Craig and Robert Hersh of Houston and great grandfather of Gabriel Liberman. Sig was born on January 21, 1923 to the late Ada and Julius Liberman of Seattle, WA. He is predeceased by his brother Martin and sisters Fay Rafish and Wilma Kurtzman. Sig and Lee were married for 68 wonderful years!During their years in Arizona, Sig served on the Coolidge City Council and later as Mayor. During his tenure as Mayor, he was president of the Arizona League of Mayors. A long time resident of Carrollton, Sig was the first City representative to the DART Board.Sig was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WW II in the European theatre. He was wounded during one of the three major battles he fought in including the Battle of the Bulge. Sig received the Purple Heart as well as the bronze star for brave actions in combat. He was proud to be among the first to liberate a concentration camp, Mittelbau-Dora in Norhausen. Sig continued to serve in the Army Reserves and after 18 years retired as a Major. He was past commander of the JWV Dallas Post #256.Sig was a graduate of the U of Washington and the Thunderbird School of International Relations. He was a 60 year Mason. Burial at Sparkman Hillcrest Cemetery with reception to follow at Windsor Senior Living on LBJ. In lieu of flowers tributes can be made to the Shellie Hersh Garden of Love at Austin College, 900 N.
