Wilbert Johnson was born on May 15, 1954 in Fort Valley, Georgia to Minnie Johnson and Grady Little.
Wilbert was an employee of the City of La Porte, and the La Porte school system.
Wilbert accepted God's call to the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Joe W. Lewis.
Whenever you saw Wilbert, he was always telling someone about the love of God; he spent the past twenty five years on the corners of La Porte or in the shopping centers, passing out tracts and witnessing about the love of God. His favorite quote was "He's Worthy to Be Praised!!! The honesty and sincerity of his love for God will be missed by all of those whom he loved.
On Monday morning, February 15, 2016, Wilbert surrendered to the will of our Heavenly Father and made his transition at the Methodist St. John Hospital, Houston, Texas. Wilbert was a dedicated man of God.
Wilbert was predeceased by his father, mother, four brothers, and a sister. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Wife, Ramona Johnson, daughter, Sheena Gittens, two sons, Joshua and David, two grandsons, Ashton and Donovan, four sisters, Martha Lockett, Jacksonville, Fl, Mary Johnson, Fort Myers, Fl, Diane (Billie) Norwood, Virginia Beach, VA, Celinda (James) Turner, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Walter Johnson, Reddington, PA, Raymond Johnson, Fort Valley, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends; and a special niece/friend Barbara Parker, Houston, TX.
